THE GREAT ART COPY

The 6th International Competition of the Skill of Copy Artists


The creative path of many artists begins with an acquaintance with the works of the Great Masters and the desire to repeat a masterpiece with their own hands. Gaining mastery in an art school, students perform numerous copies of the works of recognized masters and, thus, learn the technique of applying paint, selecting color, creating a unique texture. Sometimes, in the process of copying, new original works of art appear that are worthy of being presented to the general public and taking their place in the interior of houses, a private collection, and a gallery.

The practice of copying works of art has a long history and its own “heroes”. Thanks to copies, we get samples of the art of gone ages. Copying was done by many outstanding artists, it was both a way of learning and raising the level of its professionalism.

In addition, copies are in great demand from buyers and have great success at art fairs.

The 6th International Competition of Artcopyist Mastery will be held in Moscow, in the exhibition halls of the Moscow Union of Artists. 

Exhibition Dates: August 28 - September 2, 2023
